NOVA has
partnered with
local author
Leslie Flis and
local artist Liz
Collender to
print a
children’s book
entitled NO,
GO, TELL:
Keeping Kids
Safe. The
book is designed
to help teach
preschool aged
children the
importance of
body safety.
The story uses
animated animals
such as turtles,
elephants,
lizards and fish
that use the
safety rules to
keep their
bodies safe.
During the
initial pilot
testing phases
of the books,
both teachers
and students
were impressed
with the
artwork, bright
colors, and
rhyming words.
Teachers and
parents were
pleased with the
idea of being
able to use a
pre-developed
teaching tool
prior to or
following NOVA’s
Personal Safety
presentations to
their students.
The project
will be
available as a
curriculum that
includes a
storybook,
coloring book,
teacher guide
and parent
guide. The
option to
purchase the
pieces
individually
will also be
available.
